EU-wide legally compliant
The guided process aligns with EU requirements for electronic cancellations and helps you implement them across all member states.
From 19 June 2026, one-click online cancellation is mandatory EU-wide for businesses and online shops. The goal: consumers must be able to cancel online contracts – goods, services or subscriptions – as easily as they signed up. Our app provides the complete solution including translations into all EU languages – currently for Shopify, more platforms coming soon.
Made in Germany - GDPR compliant and hosted in Germany
Many merchants assume that a cancellation notice in the footer is sufficient. The new EU-wide requirements demand a real technical function – a button through which consumers in every member state can declare their cancellation directly and verifiably.

The requirement stems from EU-wide consumer protection rules and therefore applies to online merchants throughout the European Union – regardless of which member state you are based in or sell to. To allow consumers in every country to declare their cancellation in their language, the solution is translated into all EU languages.
A two-step process is required: First, consumers click a clearly labelled button (e.g. "Cancel contract"). On a follow-up page they then submit the cancellation via a second button (e.g. "Confirm cancellation"). Our app implements exactly this process automatically.
Only the minimum data needed for identification – typically name, contract or order number, and an email address for confirmation. Customers may not be required to provide a reason for the cancellation.
Yes. After submission, an electronic acknowledgement of receipt – for example by email – with date and time must be sent to the customer promptly. Our app sends this confirmation automatically.
The function must be easily visible and accessible at all times. It must not be hidden in the imprint, behind a registration form, or only available after login.
Merchants who do not implement the requirements risk legal warnings. In addition, the cancellation period can be significantly extended – to up to 12 months and 14 days.
EU Cancellation Button is currently available as a native app for Shopify. Integration with other popular systems such as WooCommerce, Shopware or PrestaShop is already in progress. If you use a different system, get in touch – we will notify you as soon as your platform is supported.
The requirement is tied to selling to consumers, not to a specific turnover threshold. Anyone selling goods or services online to end customers is generally affected – regardless of how many orders are placed per month.
Information and cancellation obligations also exist for digital content, the details of which depend on the specific configuration. The button can be used accordingly; the legal classification of your product range should be checked by a legal professional if in doubt.
The basic functions are permanently free – so that every shop can fulfil its legal obligation without a barrier to entry. For additional features such as custom branding, custom email templates or advanced controls, optional Pro plans are available from €4.99 per month, each with a 14-day free trial.
No. Installation is via the App Store, and integration is via the Theme Editor as an app block. You need neither coding knowledge nor modifications to your theme's source code.
The button is deliberately built to be resource-efficient. We prioritise lean code and minimal impact on your shop's performance.
